If you have created super assemblies using the Super Assemblies screen, then you can add one or more of these super assemblies to an estimate, template or change order using the Add Super Assemblies screen. See the Super Assemblies topic to learn more about creating super assemblies.
You can add as many super assemblies as you want at a time. You must first select the assembly group from Assembly Group drop-down list. Even if you have not grouped your super assemblies, you will have to select "< Not Grouped >" from the drop-down list.
Next select the super assembly you want from the Super Assembly drop-down list. Only super assemblies belonging to the selected group will be available.
Enter the quantity and hit the Tab or Enter key on your keyboard. All the assemblies and their items that are part of the super assembly will be added to the estimate and if a Link Factor has been entered for items, the quantities will also be calculated.
If you have checked the Add Notes To Estimate box on the Super Assemblies screen for this super assembly, the super assembly notes will be added to the large note area. You can edit or delete these notes as required.
Repeat this for each super assembly you want to add. When your done click the Close button.
Click the
button to delete a super assembly.
When you return to the Estimates screen, Estimate Templates screen or the Change Orders screen, you can edit any of the items that were added by the super assembly. You can also open the Add Super Assemblies screen again to edit the super assemblies you have added. You can choose different super assemblies or change quantities. This will update the information on the Estimates screen, Estimate Templates screen or Change Orders screen.
Because super assemblies are made up of assemblies you can edit the individual assemblies that were added to the estimate, template or change order. You can do this by clicking the Options button and select Add / View Assemblies on the appropriate screen.
You can lock an assembly that is part of a super assembly by checking the
box on the Add Assemblies screen. This prevents the quantity of the assembly from being changed when you change the super assembly quantity. This will only apply to assemblies that belong to super assemblies.
Editing an super assembly will override any changes you made to assemblies and items belonging to that super assembly on the Estimates screen, Estimate Templates screen or Change Orders screen. To prevent this you can lock assemblies and items items on these screens to prevent them from being changed. See the appropriate topic to see how to do this.
