Cost Book Item Selector

The Cost Book Item Selector screen provides an easy way to add items to an Estimate, an Estimate Template, a Change Order, an Assembly or a Project Diary entry.

Depending on from where the screen was opened, the category buttons Materials, Labor, Subcontract, Equipment and Miscellaneous at the top may or may not be enabled. If they are enabled you can choose any category to display the groups for that category in the Groups list on the left. If they are not enabled, then only groups for the selected category will be displayed.

You can also search for a group or an item by typing a group or item name in the drop-down lists above the Groups
list and the Items list. As you type the list will filter out the closest matches. Keep typing until you find the one you want. Hit the Enter key to move to that customer.

Click a group on the left to display all items belonging to that group in the Items list on the right.

Click an item on the Items
list to display notes for that item at the bottom of the screen.

Double-click an item on the Items
list to select it. If you opened the cost book item selector from an estimate, an estimate template or a change order a small screen shown below will open asking you how many of that item you want to add.

Just enter the quantity and click the OK
button. This will return you to the cost book item selector screen so you can add more items. This allows you to add multiple items at one time. Click the Close button when you are done adding items.

If you opened the cost book item selector from a project diary entry or an assembly, you will be returned to the appropriate screen where you can enter the quantity.

To add a new Cost Book item, click the Add New
button.

To close the screen without choosing an item, click the Close
button.
