Fixed a problem when adding cost
book items while creating an estimate. If you added a new cost
book item from the Cost Book Item Selector form the item would
show up blank when you returned to the estimate. You had to close
the estimate and reopen it and then reselect the item.

Updated the Quote Request report to now show the estimate name on
the report. We also made changes to how the report groups and
total items on the report. This applies to estimates where you
have an item listed more than once from the same supplier in your
estimate. These items are now more visibly grouped and the total
is more descriptive so you know what it applies to. This also
applies to the Purchase Order reports.

New Getting Started Tutorial Now Available.
A new Quick Estimator™
2003 Getting Started
Tutorial is now available
for download. There are two formats to choose from.
HTML (1.38 MB) and
PDF (3.73 MB). The
HTML version is suitable for viewing on screen while the
PDF version is suitable for printing. Please note that the PDF version
will open in your browser. If you want to download it to your computer,
right-click the link and click "Save Target As".
This tutorial is designed for people who are using the Quick
Estimator™ 2003 for the first time, but even existing users will
find it helpful.
This tutorial starts at the installation and then moves through creating
a new data file, setting up your company information, adding items to the
cost book, adding a new customer & project, creating a new estimate,
printing out the necessary paperwork, and entering job tracking information
once the job is complete. It does not cover all features of Quick
Estimator™ 2003. You should consult the User Guide for complete
coverage of all features.

Updated the Project Diary so that when you are selecting items in
the diary you can see the variation along with the item name. Now if you
have more than one variation of the same item in an estimate it will be
easy to distinguish them.

part of an assembly highlighted in red.

We are happy to
announce the immediate availability of free
cost books.
These free cost books are available to all Quick
Estimator™ 2003 users including trial users. Most are manufacturer
specific. You can download as many as you want Do you have a suggestion for
a cost book or a manufacturer you would like to see added?
Email
us and let us know.
Click the cost book
you want to download and save it on your computer. Open Quick Estimator™
2003 and click the Import / Export menu at the top of the screen.
Select Import Existing Quick Estimator Cost Book. Locate the cost
book you downloaded and click the Import button. You can import as many cost
books as you want into the same data file. See the important notes below
and also see the Quick Estimator™ 2003
user guide
for more info.

reports now available!
We are pleased to
announce the immediate availability of
Custom reports for Quick Estimator™ 2003. We can now
create custom reports for you that are separate from the main Quick
Estimator™ 2003 program. You can access your custom reports through a
separate program that links to your Quick Estimator™ 2003 data. All
the standard reports that are part of Quick Estimator™ 2003 will also
be available so you can do all your printing from one place. The Quick
Estimator™ Report Manager program has a simple interface (see image
below) that is very similar to the printing centre in Quick
Estimator™ 2003.
So now you can get
that perfect layout for your customer proposals, job tracking reports or any
other type of report.
You must have Quick
