You can add as many assemblies as you want at a time. You must first select the assembly group from Assembly Group drop-down list. Even if you have not grouped your assemblies, you will have to select "< Not Grouped >" from the drop-down list.

Next select the assembly you want from the Assembly
drop-down list. Only assemblies belonging to the selected group will be available.

Enter the quantity and hit the Tab
or Enter key on your keyboard. All the items that are part of the assembly will be added to the estimate and if a Link Factor has been entered, the quantities will also be calculated.

If you have checked the Add Notes To Estimate
box on the Assemblies screen for this assembly, the assembly notes will be added to the large note area. You can edit or delete these notes as required.

Repeat this for each assembly you want to add. When your done click the Close
button.

Click the xbutton button to delete an assembly.

When you return to the Estimates screen, Estimate Templates screen or the Change Orders screen, you can edit any of the items that were added by the assembly. You can also open the Add Assemblies screen again to edit the assemblies you have added. You can choose different assemblies or change quantities. This will update the information on the Estimates screen, Estimate Templates screen or Change Orders screen.

Editing an assembly will override any changes you made to items belonging to that assembly on the Estimates screen, Estimate Templates screen or Change Orders screen. To prevent this you can lock items on these screens to prevent them from being changed. See the appropriate topic to see how to do this.

Assemblies that belong to a super assembly are color coded down the left side in orange
. This makes it easy to tell which assemblies were added individually and which ones were added as part of a super assembly.

You can lock an assembly that is part of a super assembly by checking the lockitemsymbol box. This prevents the quantity of the assembly from being changed when you change the super assembly quantity. This will only apply to assemblies that belong to super assemblies.
