Quick Estimator 5.0      New screen shots added below!

We are busy working on version 5.0 so we thought we would add a section where we will share what's new and some screen shots as it progresses. We will start adding some information soon, so check back often.

Here are some of the changes and additions.

  • More detailed scheduling which lets you schedule tasks for each project and not just the project.
  • New database engine that is smaller and faster.
  • New reporting engine that generates PDF file without requiring a third party tool.
  • You will be able to customize the reports with the included report designer.
  • Fully integrated emailing for sending estimates and invoices straight from the program. The current version requires a third party tool.
  • Better network performance using a built-in, dedicated database server. Scale from a single user to hundreds of users without and special software and without any changes to the program.
  • With the new built-in database server, you will be able to access your data remotely via the internet. (requires a fixed IP address on the computer that hosts the database.)
  • New synchronization system that is easier to setup and use. You can even synchronize remotely via the internet.
  • You will be able to control profit and overhead at the item level.
  • It will be fully compatible with Windows 2000, XP, Vista, and Windows 7. (Sorry, we can no longer support any version of Windows before 2000)
  • The interface can be displayed in different languages using language files. The initial release will have English and Spanish language files, but we will be adding French shortly after release.
  • Personal rebranding and reseller rebranding will be available. Prices for rebranding have not been set yet.
  • You can have unlimited custom fields for things like customers, projects etc.

 
If you purchase the current version now, you will get version 5.0 for free when it is released.

...and of course it will have a fresh new look.

Main Menu

The main menu is all new, but it has the same functionality as in version 4 so you will have no trouble adjusting.

Customers

The all new customers screen lets you browse, search, filter, add, edit, delete and print customers all from one screen.

Warranty

You can now use rich text formatting in things like warranties.

Email

Send formatted emails directly from Quick Estimator. You can even setup templates with merge fields.

Tax Settings

Tax settings has been simplified and made easier to setup.

New Data Grid

Import From QuickBooks

You can now import customers and projects from QuickBooks.

Import From CSV Files

Now it is much easier to import customers from CSV files. Just choose the file, map the fields and import.

Cost Book

The all new cost book screen lets you browse, search, filter, add, edit, delete and print cost book items all from one screen.

Replication

Replication and synchronization is much easier to setup and use. You can simply subscibe to a database on a network or over the internet.

Synchronization

Once you have subscribed to a database on a network or over the internet, you can synchronize in both directions with a single click.

Report Designer

You can now edit reports in the all new, powerful report designer.
